The Bradford District is very diverse covering rural and urban areas, cities, towns and villages. In some parts, there is a high concentration of students and young people.
The Bradford District’s diversity presents a range of different challenges for the Safer Communities partnership. Local Area Safer Communities Partnerships are community based partnerships designed to respond to the needs of specific geographic areas.
In others, there are significant numbers of people over retirement age. What’s more, our district includes some of the most affluent as well as deprived wards in the country.
This means that members of the Bradford District Safer Communities Partnership have a wide variety of crime issues to tackle. Many initiatives and services are in place to prevent and reduce crime, and help people to feel safer in the district.
Moreover, the Safer Communities Partnership is constantly monitoring crime levels and talking to communities in order to implement our overall strategy, respond to new situations and continually improve our performance
